भारत सरकार के अंतर्गत एक स्वायत्त संस्थान है।
केंद्र की शुरुआत 1991 में असम सरकार की एक परियोजना के रूप में वैज्ञानिकों के एक छोटे समूह के साथ की गई थी, और 29 मई, 2009 तक असम सरकार के विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग के तहत एक स्वायत्त संस्थान के रूप में कार्य किया। इसके बाद, संस्थान को पऊवि, भारत सरकार के अंतर्गत प्लाज़्मा अनुसंधान संस्थान के केंद्र के रूप में लिया गया।
Centre of Plasma Physics – Institute for Plasma Research (CPP-IPR) is a research centre of Institute for Plasma Research
(IPR), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, an autonomous institute under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Govt. of India.
The centre was initially formed with a small group of scientists in 1991 as a project of Govt. of Assam, and functioned as
an autonomous institute under the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Assam, till May 29, 2009. Hereon upon, the institute was taken as a centre of
Institute for Plasma Research under DAE, Govt. of India.
